Ben currently works in Public Health and has background in Physical Activity promotion and Exercise Referral within the NHS and the Health and Fitness sector. He is also the Vice Chair of the Sheffield Coronary Society. Ben is Exercise Referral trained and qualified, which is appropriate for our group as most people come post phase 4 on the cardiac pathway, and a fair number have other conditions (diabetes, osteoporosis etc) which need to be taken into account on top of just the cardiac conditions. With his commitment to Public Health and over 10 years experience as a fitness instructor, Personal Trainer and sports coach Ben provides the society with the necessary knowledge to ensure that it can provide appropriate and beneficial activity for all of its members, as well as leading the Monday night exercise class at Sheffield Hallam University's Collegiate Campus sports facilities. Through his work with the Sheffield Coronary Society Ben's stated aim is "to provide the support and opportunities to enable those with or at risk of heart disease to have the confidence to build their activity levels, enjoy life and reduce their future risk of heart problems". Ben is also a keen rower, both rowing and coaching at the City of Sheffield Rowing Club. |
Nick is a level 3 Advanced Instructor who is qualified to work with referred clients. All Awards are certified by the Register Of Exercise Professionals and by the Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ)
